The Dehua porcelains could be divided into daily products and home decoration in the aspect of functions, which includes plate, bowl, glass, tray, jar, bottle, stationary and candle stick, etc, as to the decoration, it covers bottle, set, spoon and tripod, furnace and beans. The design and decoration of Dehua porcelains have been influenced by bronze wares and jades in Shang and zhou dynasty, and Xuande furnace in Ming dynasty. The traditional techniques of Dehua porcelains stand out among other areas shaped as into double hornless dragons jar, lion head cylindrical bottle, elephant’s ear bow string pattern cup, hippo tooth cup, etc.
The products in the early Song dynasty are blue and white ceramics, as the skill is developing it turns to white glazed porcelains. The white glazed porcelains in Ming dynasty are finely smoothed, been named as “ivory white” for its excellent quality, and seen as the representative of China’s white porcelains. If the white porcelains made in Jingde town kiln are famous for its blue and white glazed porcelains, Dehua white porcelains are more with milky white, shown with icy and glossy characteristics, deposited with deep charms.
