 Shan xiumei female, Hui nationality, born in January 1963, specializes in human portrait. She has been studying in national arts and crafts college, engaging in the artistic work for more than 20 years. Taken positions as member of China’s industry, member of xinjiang folk art association, councilor of China arts and crafts association, she is now the manager of Xinjiang Yitianyang trade Co., Ltd. the designer of arts and crafts.
With rapid development of xinjiang tourism heralded the westward expansion in 1999, shan xiumei, having sharp observation to the markets, started to develop tourism souvenirs. Based on her deep background in the art and millions of times of practice, she invented cloth dolls featuring xinjiang ethnic flavors. Then she applied for the trademark of “qiuziqing”, and outlook patent as well. The cloth dolls were awarded gold medal in “Taiwang cup” autonomous region tourist souvenirs design competition in 2001, gold medal of national first tourist souvenirs design competition. For four years of development, “qiuziqing ” crafts categorized for more than hundreds, and which is the most attracting point in Urumqi fair and most representative folk arts and crafts and tourist souvenirs.
